After weeks of nonstop training, we went through rehearsals that were both sweaty and exhausting in preparation for the field demonstration that our school puts on. There is no denying that it was enjoyable, despite the fact that it was exhausting and, at times, accompanied with complaints. The anticipation for the big day was evident as shown by the fact that we were preparing our props and putting on our costumes.
The day would begin at an early hour. In preparation for the march, we had already put on all the necessary props and arranged ourselves in the field by the time the clock struck seven in the morning. Though it was challenging to maintain order and discipline when we were doing our march through the heat of the day, we made an effort to keep our posture as a section with the goal of being the most disciplined.
Following the parade, we went back to our classroom to get ready for the demonstration that would take place in the field. We were excited and nervous, waiting for the time that would arrive for us to present our work. In front of the crowd and the judges, we danced with smiles on our faces and took pride whilst performing. We were pleased with ourselves when the winner was revealed, even though we had not been the ones to emerge victorious. The Boys of grade 10 placed in second, whilst the girls came in fourth.
One shocking discovery after the performance was the announcement of the most disciplined section per grade level, and to our astonishment, we were chosen as the section for this award. Despite the fact that there was a lot of chaos and noise in the classroom, we were still able to maintain order when it was required. After the announcement, we headed back to our classroom with Ma'am Remy to enjoy food before returning home.
Ilocos Sur National High institution holds an annual anniversary celebration that is more than just a simple celebration; rather, it is a look back at the history of our school as well as its accomplishments the past century. Here, we are reminded of how lucky we are to be a part of ISNHS, as it helps to enhance our spirit of unity as we come together as one to celebrate this occasion. At our school, we are reminded that every generation has a part to play in maintaining the traditions and values that have been passed down from generation to generation through activities such as parades, field demonstrations, and the recognition of excellent students and teachers. It is not just the medals or trophies that are important at the end of the day; what is more important are the memories, the camaraderie, and the lessons that we take with us wherever we find ourselves.
